Over tbe past 50 years, Biden, Bernie, and Bloomberg have accumulated a public domain, audio/video resume of dumb ass statements, positions, and actions. This puts them at a decided disadvantage when they stand next to those junior and sophomore candidates Buttigieg and

Klobuchar, simply because the little squirts haven’t had enough time to amass a large enough record of dumb ass ideas to bludgeon them with.

Tom Steyers. Elizabeth Warren. Not a lot of dumb ass stuff for me to complain about, but I haven’t tried to vet them and that’s not my job. They’re both too old according to my personal algorithm but Steyers, I suppose is within the margin of error, at age 62. I will never forgive Warren for that dumb ass stunt that she pulled when she let trump trick her into taking and sharing her DNA results.

Any way, y’all do what you want to do – but do vote.

Why Rush Limbaugh is a lying hypocrite

During his talk show on October 5, 1995, Limbaugh stated: “There’s nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.” Limbaugh argued that drug abuse was a choice, not a disease, and that it should be combatted with strict legal consequences.

In October 2003, news outlets reported that Limbaugh was under investigation for illegally obtaining prescription drugs. Limbaugh illegally purchased hundreds of prescription pills per month over a period of several years. He engaged in the practice of “doctor shopping” by visiting different doctors to obtain multiple prescriptions for drugs that would otherwise be illegal. When this was disclosed, Limbaugh checked into a treatment facility. He said, “Over the past several years I have tried to break my dependence on pain pills and, in fact, twice checked myself into medical facilities in an attempt to do so…. I have recently agreed with my physician about the next steps.”

Though doctor shopping was punishable by up to five years in prison under Florida law, charges against Limbaugh were dropped after he sought help and agreed to the prosecutors’ settlement. Limbaugh has said that he became addicted to painkillers as a result of serious back pain.

So let’s summarize. He was not only a Doctor shopping junk addict using opiod pain killers, but he was procuring the drugs for others. Yet instead of going to prison like an honorable man of his word, he copped a plea and his buddies never mentioned it again.

The power of one

Dear Candidates:
There is no reason that you guys cannot create a leadership caucus NOW.
Decide among yourselves who should be the nominee and announce which cabinet level position each of you will be willing to serve under your chosen leader.
You’re spending your constituencies donations on your petty little ad buys and debate scrimmages, knowing that all donations but one group will be flushed down an empty hole. While the Resident is following your debates around, getting free ads from network media everytime he tweets another dumb idea that he dreams up. If you stop the primaries now and begin the National Election – he will be caught off guard while impeachment related questions continue to be answered and you prosecute the election in chief.

Is Oprah An Honorary Becky

Why does Oprah insist on retelling the same story being drummed on the evening news  every night. Her documentaries about Michael Jackson and now the Black METOO suspects, gives Becky and the Privileged Americans even more cover to view black men as predatory, thuggish animals. Even successful black men, like Cosby, and Simmons become fodder for Oprah’s slanted story telling. She could include them in a story that hurts “all men” if she wants to be seen as a women’s warrior, but when she beats the already dead horse, she actually takes a “Fiddler’s” position of an honorary Becky, living in the big house.

Oprah knows that the Black man has been, and is being tarnished enough. Her stories only give cover to those that shoot us down under the cover of authority. There is no rational distinction between white collar, #metoo thugs and armed robbery, bitch slapping thugs in the mind of some Americans. To them there are only two kinds of black men – good niggahs and bad niggahs.

There are plenty of stories that Oprah could be telling that would help her female base. She could go after Big Pharma for the problems with silicon breast implants. She could be doing stories about the cancer causing chemicals found in hair dye.

We’re not asking Oprah to lie for us. We’re not asking her to cut us some slack. We’re asking her to STFU and keep our names out of her mouth. Her girlfriend, Gayle has to cover the mean old dangerous black thug on the morning news every day. Let her handle it. At least she covers current events. Oprah keeps digging up old stuff that has already been litigated, charged or dismissed. Why go after Michael Jackson when he’s not even able to defend himself anymore.

Nobody needs to see a slanted hour long documentary, with sound, music and pictures, complete with one sided facts and narrative to remind us our position in American society.

The problem is

“Due to gentrification and the progressive future outlook for Inglewood, many people are complaining about $1700 rents for one bedroom apartments.”

Back in 1997, I started working 7 days a week full and part time, for 5 years, while driving a 1987 Mazda 626. When that ordeal was over, then Mayor, Roosevelt Dorn advised me to buy property in Inglewood NOW.

I did that in 2002 and my mortgage is not negatively affected by gentrification, the stadium or rent increases.

When gentrification makes me an offer we can’t refuse, we will take our equity and perhaps purchase a villa, on the island of Jamaica.

They tell me that I am heartless and arrogant for that position, but I say, if THEY still feel that way after they complete their 5×7 quest, we can sit down and talk about it. (…and quit parking high end leased vehicles in front of somebody else’s apartment.)

Recall!

It took us 227 years to arrive at this point in presidential history. Many political battles were fought and won. Many man hours were spent gnashing teeth and ringing hands to arrive at a social-economic balance that America could live with both at home and abroad. We took our time to research and develop tarrifs, taxes, regulations and reforms that seemed most likely to support our safety and goals. Now we are just tearing up treaties and bulldozing ideals at the whim of a single individual. He is a bull in a china store. We are like sheep going to slaughter, not knowing which service or product is likely to be recalled next. Without regulatory oversight and  defenses, business has decided to recover expenses and stop testing on lab rats, in favor of real time testing on their customers. At the same time, the bully is building an idealistic and biased court system that is bent on removing tort controls so that when a business is caught testing a dangerous product on the public, they but only apologize, without fear of pesky lawsuits that used to bring them to justice.

I went long, but the danger is real.

I Call It Volatility

I’m sure that trumplethinskin will claim that the FED’s qualitative easing was a liberal affirmative action policy designed to get the black guythrough eight years.

Now that he is in charge, and his wise regulatory easing and hands on management of U.S. domestic and global relationships has been successful but the Fed is still under the influence of Obama era far left liberals, intent on slowing his progressive agenda with out of date conservative interest rate imposition.

He would say that but somehow that last part seems counter intuitive

Could Tesla become the 21st Century Edsel?

With their stock under increasing pressure due to unfavorable tweets and behavior by Elon Musk, the FCC has filed suit against the high tech auto company.     There are threats hanging over the popular car maker, asking for Musk to step down.

This move along with competition in the electric car market, and Tesla’s own failures to turn out new models as well as a profit may ultimately make Tesla a footnote in. The history books.

A Shooting In Dallas

Innocent until proven guilty. You take your victims as you find them. Both common cliches used to amplify or deflate legal jeaprody.

In the state of California, I am not allowed to use deadly force against a burgler, outside of my home unless he turns violent. If I were to advance the “Oops, I thought he was in my apartment” defense around here, the DA would be within he rights to charge me with some level of murder because I have to take my victims as I find them.

But in a less advanced society like Texas, Ms. Guyger can argue that she had a right to defend her property – even if she chose the wrong apartment and therefore the wrong victim. She can further argue that she had a right to use deadly force immediately because she was an off duty sworn officer.

Since I have not heard that she identified herself as police when she walked into this man’s darkend door, shouting commands and simultaneously using deadly force, I am not sure that she can hide behind the cover of authority.

Suppose Mr. Jean had decided that Ms. Guyger was threatening his life and left her laying for dead in his doorway. I find it hard to believe that his story would even be considered.

At best I am prepared to charge the police department for poor training. If she is to be considered off duty, for her own safety, she shouldn’t be allowed to walk around in full uniform, slinging a gun. Proper training should have taught her that when approaching a potential crime scene, while off duty and without backup, she should call her department dispatcher with her badge number and have on-duty officers directed to the scene. With proper training and a mindset to save and protect lives, since she had time to take cover, she could have taken advantage of the opportunity to move away from the scene and place her self out of harms way. The need to stand her ground would have been temporarily eliminated. The department may also be complicit as having coached her as to how to describe and file a self serving police report, designed to absolve an officer of guilt by misdirecting the facts.

We have to do better, and we should start now.

fair|UBER

fair|UBER
is a pretty fair idea, if you want to hold on to a decent car for 6 to 12 months. But if you just want to get around and make some part time UBER money for a month, while your car is in the shop, or you have a new job that doesn’t start for two more weeks, A $550. non-refundable start up cost is non-reasonable, and barely fair.
I could go for it if that “Deposit” would cover me for maybe 12 months, should I decide to pick up another car in a couple of months after a short term initial use and return. But it doesn’t. If I want to roll for another couple of weeks – I have to re-initialize the startup with another $550. Maybe if I could reinitialize for an additional $100, I could hang or if the start-up cost was pro-rated to accommodate a shorter term. Then it would be fair.
